Assignment Sets in Oracle HRMS Payroll

Why are assignment sets needed??

Sometimes we have a requirement that we want to run payroll for specific set of employees or based upon some criteria e.g. Only executive employees.

How to use Assignment Sets.

Navigation: Global HRMS Manager --> Payroll --> Assignment Set

Change your effective date and give a proper name and select your relevant payroll.

Case 2: if you want to run payroll based on a particular criteria.

Press Criteria Button

On this window, you can provide your desired criteria. You can limit employees by grades, locations, organizations, positions etc. I only used criteria based on Grade and Position.

Press Save. Close Criteria window. and Press Generate button.

NOTE: if you do not press Generate button, Assignment set will not limit the employees in payroll run.

Lets Check it by submitting a request.

Payroll Run using Assignment Set

When payroll run is completed, you will see that payroll would have only been run for employees fulfilling criteria in Assignment set.

    1. Hi shyam
it means that no employee was eligible for the criteria you specified in your assignment..
Kindly recheck by including the employees in Amendments tab.

  2. Hi,

I am working on payroll and have issue not really sure what to execute. The thing is we have different pay days for people in different positions. I understand I have to user an assignment set to seperate these people, what I am not about is how to schedule or run them on the different dates as the payroll run dates are a LOV(Same date each month) .

Ex: Accountants pay day is 20th each month, HR Practitioner's 30th each month.
Do you have an idea on how to define this scenario?

    1. I am afraid you will have to enter all the employees to enter all those employees on Amendments screen.
In that case, data loader can be a helpful tool.

  15. Thank you for sharing this useful information. Hr management software is responsible for accurately calculating employee wages based on the new labor laws. This involves considering factors such as minimum wages, overtime rates, allowances, and deductions. They need to stay updated with any changes in wage rates mandated by the labor codes. HR oversees the administration of various types of leaves, including annual leave, sick leave, and maternity/paternity leave.
